STORYLINE:
This enchanting musical tells the heartwarming story of King, Majesty, Royal, and Adore, four teens facing adversity due to their disabilities. To escape the challenges they endure, they pen a poignant letter to Santa Claus, pleading for just one day of normalcy. With their wish miraculously granted, they embark on a magical journey, temporarily freed from their disabilities. However, as they traverse the unfamiliar terrain of a world without their limitations, they soon discover that the grass may seem greener on the other side, but true strength lies in embracing their unique qualities.

All submissions must include a headshot and resume". Must be able to memorize lines and music. Also please only submit if you fit the description of the character and are able to attend the first round of auditions on April 6th and 7th,2024. Flexibility in schedule is a plus! Our table read will be June 29th, 2024.

SPECIAL NOTE:
All submissions must have a clear headshot and resume', please make sure to submit only if you fit the description of the character. This production will require music and scene rehearsals, so make sure that you have the flexibility starting in July. If you sing or dance, please make sure to include that in your submission. Make sure to READ THE AUDITION DATES will be APRIL 6TH, 2024 AND APRIL 7TH, 2024. ONLY selected actors who attend the auditions will be considered.
Roles:
*[KING ALI]
18 to 30 years old, Black man / boy. We are open to older who look younger and high school age. King is the charismatic leader at Ordinary Lane High School, fueled by his dreams of becoming a basketball star despite muscular dystrophy. A compelling and powerful singing or rap ability is a plus. King will be in a wheelchair in Act 1 and parts of Act 2.
*[MAJESTY GLOVER]
18 to 30 years old, White woman / girl has down syndrome. We are open to older who look high school age. Majesty, with Down syndrome, navigates the challenges of aspiring modeling while confronting the harsh realities of societal perceptions. A vibrant and strong singing ability
*[ADORE CHUNG]
18 to 30 years old, East Asian, Filipino, South Asian, Southeast Asian woman / girl. Adore has dwarfism so we would like cast a little person for this role. Open to older if look teenage/ high school . Adore, dealing with dwarfism, experiences the pangs of unrequited love as she navigates her first crush. A compelling singing ability is a plus to convey the depth of her emotions.

18 to 30 years old, Hispanic, Indigenous, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, Mixed Ethnicity, Pacific Islander man. Open to older who look high school age. Royal, with a speech impediment, dreams of becoming a pop star despite his introverted nature. The role demands a crucial and emotive singing ability.

18 to 30 years old, all ethnicities woman / girl, Model Type 5'5-6'0 tall. This will be Majesty on the other side of being disabled. Majesty transforms into a model, peeling back the layers of Hollywood to discover the genuine essence beneath

18 to 30 years old open to older if look high school age, East Asian, Eastern European, Filipino, South Asian, Southeast Asian woman / girl. 5'5-6'0. On the other side, Adore grapples with societal expectations around size, learning valuable lessons about self-acceptance. A strong singing ability is integral to portraying the emotional journey.

45 to 70 years old, White man. Resembles Santa Claus. Mr. Arthur serves as the encouraging force behind the teens, resembling Santa Claus. His character is integral to the magical journey and requires a seasoned performer.

40 to 65 years old, Black woman. King's nurturing mother struggles with the challenges of supporting her disabled son. A strong singing ability is a plus!

40 to 65 years old, Black man. King's father is a pillar of unwavering

Emo/ Rocker Style 18 to 35 years old, all ethnicities man. We are open to older if look high school age. Colin is the edgy, popular rocker at Ordinary Lane who is Adore's very first crush, with a strong singing ability that adds depth to his character.
[WONDER THE ELF- MR. BLTZEN]
35 to 70 years old, all ethnicities man. An open and diverse role Wonder The Elf guides the children on their magical and impactful journey. Also known as Mr. Blitzen, this character at Santa's workshop plays a crucial role in shaping the narrative. Open to performers of all backgrounds.
[ROCKY]
18 to 30 years old, all ethnicities man / boy. Open to older if look high school age. Rocky is King's basketball rival, bringing a competitive edge to the narrative. The role is open to diverse casting. Rap or singing ability is a plus.

[FAN 1]
18 to 35 years old, all ethnicities woman / girl, transgender woman / girl. A teenage girl with Down syndrome who admires Majesty. She becomes a mirror image of how Majesty sees herself.

[PHARELL]
18 to 35 years old, all ethnicities woman / girl, man / boy, transgender man / boy, nonbinary. Former leading basketball player who becomes jealous of King's success. Open to diverse casting, this character adds a layer of rivalry and conflict to the narrative.
